The Malle Leis Estate was established by her heirs, Sandra Jõgeva and Henrik Jõgeva, to deal with the storage, preservation and introduction of Malle Leis’s legacy as an artist.
Sandra Jõgeva (1976) has worked as an artist, writer, critic, curator and director of
documentaries. She has published four books of which the first, Draamapunkt, received the Betti Alver Award for a debut novel (2009). She has received the Cultural Endowment of Estonia’s annual Visual and Applied Arts Prize (2005) as well as the Endowment’s annual Audiovisual Award (2018). Her debut film Armastus…(Love…) was also awarded the Doki Kild, the Estonian Documentary Guild’s colleague award (2017) for EFTA Documentary Film of the Year (2018).
In recent years, she has focused on recording the recent history of Estonian art in documentary films. The following films have been released: The Secret of Mare Tralla, a portrait film about the artist Mare Tralla in 2022; and Art and the Cold War documenting unofficial relations between Soviet and Western art in 2024. Also in production is a film about the Estonian art classic Ando Keskküla (1950-2008).
Henrik Jõgeva (1979) has been active as a designer for decades in the field of advertising. He has produced thousands of graphic solutions, as well as promotional and short videos. In recent years, he has become active as a 3D animator.
